Giveaway(s)!

To say thank you, sweet peeps, for checking in on my little blog, I’d like to share a couple what(k)nots with you...

DIYPlacemat1

Firstly (and I’m so excited about these): a DIY placemat with a blank canvas center, ready for your little artist to adorn. I’ll also include a set of fabric markers so you’ll be all set for creative adventure!

DIYPlacemat2

Taping off the patchwork frame should keep that area scribble-less (if that’s what you’re into). I’ll continue to show an assortment of colors and patterns as the week progresses...pick your favorite if you win!

DIYPlacemat3

But wait...there’s more!!

Softies

This awesome book features some of my favorite crafty bloggers and a ton of fast, easy projects. It’s up for grabs as well!

So, seeing as how I’m jumping into this etsy thing completely clueless, I thought it would be prudent to glean some wisdom from you kind folks. If you’re an etsy seller, buyer, or online shopper in general, please leave a comment with your best tip/advice/words of wisdom for running an online shop. And if you’re none of the above (or don’t feel like talking shop), just tell me about your day!

Comment anytime between now and Friday and I will choose two random winners from the comments on this post on Friday, Oct 3rd (please let me know if you’d like the book or the placemat in the comment, too!)

But of course, you are all winners in my book! Thank you for all your encouraging words. And now, I’m off to sew sew sew some more!

Xo

First off, LOVE your new banner. So cool and just RIGHT.

hmmmm, Etsy tip. Be active in the forums (people are really kind and will help with any/all questions that will come up), decide who your target audience is and advertise accordingly, make store sections, and have fun with it.

Have you thought about what "extras" you are going to include? You could print up some of your recipes on really cool paper and include that with every purchase.

Good luck, can't wait to check it out!

I always like when an Etsy seller includes a little business card or Moo Card; I keep them for future purchases. Good luck and thanks for the lovely giveaway!

Your new banner looks great! I have bought a few things from Etsy and love it when sellers let me know when they have despatched the goods. Little extras in the package are always appreciated! Love your placemats - great way of preserving kids artwork!! Best of luck in the business.

I would love to check out that book! We have so many stuffed animals but I haven't made any of them . . .

Etsy??? Um - pictures are everything . . . probably pretty obvious, but I had to get a lesson on how to use my dslr properly, and build a light box for proper pictures of little things.

I wish you luck on your new business adventure. I don't have any advice because I didn't even know what Etsy was until you mentioned it. Good luck!

These look lovely. I know my children would love them, especially the part where they can add their own art. I would say that my best advice on Etsy is to give your best customer service. Once you receive payment for an item, email them right away letting your customer know when you plan to ship your item. Send them a note after you have shipped. There is nothing like good customer service to bring someone back to buy more or better yet, spread the word about your shop.

As an etsy purchaser I love the shop announcements at the beginning...er, top of page. Not sure how hard (or tedious) it is to keep that current, but knowing there is a "shopkeeper" around comforts me somehow.

If I win, a placemat please!

Awesome!!! I love your placemat idea--if I don't win, this will definitely be on my to-do list for my picky-eater of a toddler!

I just recently found your blog via the crafty crow. I love the red bird blanket and want to try your orange carrot soup.
Don't forget a direct link from your blog to your etsy shop. Good Luck.

hello bloggy friend,

I am new to have a shop...but my advice is as goes...one never really knows what will sell??? so try a various amount of different kinds of things and when you do sell something you then know what direction to head :o)

I wish you all the blessings in your adventure :o)

I have been looking at that book in the craft store...I would love to get my hands on a copy :o)

(ps...I love the place mats too :o) great job :o)

have a wonderful day :o)

These are gorgeous! And my day is going better now just from catching up on your blog :) It's been full of bunnies and keeping babies out of the pool so I don't have to dive in and save them.
